Checked last August 2013 and were superb!
1) Plaka at Naxos (after taverna three brothers), all the facilities near the umbrellas,
2) Gialiskari or Anydroi, the last beash at the end, at Palaiochora, South-West Crete, province Chania, dirt road from Palaiochora, facilities at the taverna near,
3) Palaiochora West beach (Pahia Ammos) at the right side facing the sea, same area as No2, facilities need little walking,
4) Mikro (Little) Ammoudi, near Plakias, (beach close to Damnoni and between Ammoudi and Damnoni), at south province of Rethymno, Crete, service on the umbrellas,
Checked August 2012:
5) Red beach at Matala, province of South Heraklion, Crete, Walking aboyt 25 minutes (up and down a hill), facilities at the kantina, but no food, only refreshments, drinks, water etc.
My opinion is that these beaches at Crete are billion times better than the other beaches on the islands you mentioned!(except Kos)
