 We have had a number of fab holidays in Karpathos, and have laways stayed in Lefkos. The beaches to the north of the village are wonderful, and the further ones are of wonderful soft sand with very few rocks.

We also found that the coves to the south of the airport were invariably nude, and we often had one to ourselves.

The captains guide is very reliable and it is great fun exploring. Do be warned though, if you plan on going to the north of the island (Olymbos), the drive is not for the faint hearted, and will require a 4X4.

Also note that the east coast resorts are all down very steep hills, and the beach at Kato Lakis, whilst accessable, is down a very, very steep dirt track. It is so precipetous that my partner refused to go back a second time! (that was in 2009, so it may have changed.....)
