 I think you may be right, time to look for alternatives. Been going to Greece for 20 plus years and the sparkle has gone. Kommo beach in southern Crete was dirty, washed up and discarded plastic, cigarette ends and dog foul. Getting expensive, 7.50 euro for a orange juice on the beach! Villas being built and encroaching on the surrounding landscape. Villages losing their quaintness to industrial commercial tourism, it's lost, shame.
