Subject: New Clerics

I mentioned this during the back in the lounge gathering, but I have worked out a few more of the details. I am in the process of rewriting the magic system, mostly to give it a different feel, the sort of feel that I think fantasy should have. I'm well on the way to rewriting clerics and I wanted to get some opinions on what I had done so far. Instead of getting spells clerics get two kinds of powers: blessings and miracles. They get a blessing and a miracle at level one, another miracle at each level divisible by four and a blessing at each other level. They also have only 1/2 base attack. I have posted a list of the blessings and miracles that I have done so far on the web at

http://www.csclub.uwaterloo.ca/~jwhyte/dd/blessing.html
and
http://www.csclub.uwaterloo.ca/~jwhyte/dd/miracles.html

I need more of both, though I need miracles more than I need blessings. The miracles and blessings that you would be allowed to take would be based on your god.

My major concern right now is what role wisdom is going to play. It will affect save DCs, but it seems that clerics would be able to get away with having almost no wisdom at all, which isn't exactly what I wanted.

Comments and questions appreciated.

James
