Ren had followed Otik downstairs, and had been having a rather animated (if one sided) conversation with Steve.
That is, until he heard Karade's remark. He glanced at Otik. "Are you going with them?"
He made no move to follow the others himself--he seemed to be waiting to hear Otik's answer first.
The scruffy oddball was facinated by what seemed to be a sentient stump, and had decided that--until said stump objected--he would follow Otik.
One didn't run across such an interesting stranger every day, after all...
