The religions of the different races vary from group to group. But they hold several things in common. The universe was created and ordered by one all-powerful god. After ordering the world the god created the Cave of Birth. From this cave the seven different races emerged. First came the dragons and the giants. After a few thousand years the Elves followed soon after by the dwarves emerged. Next came the gnomes followed a few centuries afterwards by the humans. And lastly came the halflings. After the last race had emerged from it, the Cave of Birth vanished. It is said that it still can be found, but never has been in the history of the humans. After creating everything, the god left the world in the hands of a council of twelve gods and their many servants. To maintain balance in the world the god also created the demon world and populated it with evil beings. There are twelve demon lords who are the antitheses of the twelve gods.
No one is quite sure where the other races, such as orcs and kolbolds came from. Some were said to have been created by the god separately from the Cave of Birth. Others were said to have been created by the demons.
That's the view of the majority of people, of course there are other smaller religions around. But this should be enough to get us by for now. I will most likely add more later.
