Music Relief Asia: Bands needed now

Since the recent catastrophe in Asia, I have spoken to numerous people willing to try and do something to help those suffering, but were unsure what they could do. Various ideas have been discussed over the past ten days but in the end it was decided that the best way forward would be to encourage bands to play a local show, where their following is greatest.

We feel it is very important that everyone contributes and we are aware that there are many, many bands across the UK and there is no easy way to contact them all. Therefore we want you to spread the news to everyone that you can.

Initially we have contacted the four hundred bands on our site and we have been given the contact details for a further three hundred. This is still not enough though as every band is needed and we feel that every band should put on a gig, after all if a band is not willing to play, especially for a cause as important as this, then why are they together at all?

So far some of the bands who have pledged support are planning gigs in many different places including pubs, schools, homes, scout huts and some have even suggested busking on the streets.

We have already started talking to the press and the initial response is very positive towards the loose arrangement of bands under the umbrella of Music Relief Asia.
