~Youth directs equine to door of Adoption Center, followed closely by a police car, making sure she went to where she was supposed to. Cues small mare to a quick halt, unsnapping bridle to make it into a leather halter, tying lead rope to nearby pole. Fem makes sure that mustang is out of the way of all, mostly hidden, unsaddling her quickly. Out of the car walks a tall uniformed police officer, catching up to her with long strides as she hides the saddle in the bushes. Motions for girl to follow him inside, careful to keep her from running. Young femmen leans away from male, clearly distrustful though it seemed that way of all men not simply this officer. Filling out several forms, the cop gives them to the owner with a sad look to'ards the child who huddled in a corner. One hand is kept down on the ruff of Border Collie that had stayed close to her throughout the whole scene~

Kitten's mother, Ella, was a drug addict, prostitute, and heavily involved in gangs when she was born. Kit was actually born addicted to cocaine, many say which accounts for her small size. Ella cleaned up her act after Kit's birth, vowing to give Kit a good life. This vow lasted about a month, before Ella was back on drugs and hanging with gangs. One of Ella's vices was her many boyfriends. She was a very passive person, letting her boyfriend's run her life without any objection, including not sending Kit to school but keeping her working. Kitwas abused both physically, and mentally along with her mother from her mother's boyfriends since she was two. Ella eventually also started taking out her aggressions on her daughter, but not as often. This vicious cycle of abuse continued 'till Kit turned 8. That was when Ella got yet another boyfriend, this one worst than all the rest, just out of prison. His name was Jason. One day Ella went to get some more drugs, leaving Jason and Kit alone. That day, he raped the young girl. Kit, of course, told her mother, who did not believe her. This was soon added to the cycle of abuse, becoming a regular thing. Jason lasted longer than all the rest of Ella's boyfriend's, staying with her for a year. Several of her boyfriends afterwards did this also. One of them eventually killed Ella in a rage at his drink not being cold enough. Kit barely escaped with her life. She, now 10, was sent to live with an old rancher who taught her how to ride. Kit was a natural, she had finally found something she could do without working hard at it. The rancher, Mr. Breighton (she uses his last name, she was never told her mother's last name) also taught her all she missed in school. Hearing about her abusers he also taught her the martial arts for self defense. It seemed strange to most that this girl who was terrified of men bonded so deeply with this old man. Walking past a neighbouring farm one day, Kit saw three men horribly abusing a gorgeous dapple gray mustang, who had just been caught from the wild a week before. Kit stole the horse, but got in trouble with her beloved mentor, Mr. Breighton. He did not make her take it back, however, he just paid the men for it. Kit trained the four year old mare, though it took a lot of patience, and Honor Star, as she was named, still does not allow any others on her back. Then, after a short two years, Mr. Breighton died of a stroke. He left all his possessions to Kit, having no family or close friends. None of it can be acessed until Kit turns eighteen though, so the only real things she received was a young BC pup that was of his Borders' litter. Kit wandered from place to place, having run away from her new foster home, offering her services as a rider and/or trainer wherever she could find. Kit even exercised racehorses for a while. But, now she has been caught by this officer, who eventually found out her story, and taken her to this Adoption Agency, the safest place for any child.
