Subject: There is something to that. When you see bashing 99.99% of the time it is something to do with a glitz pageant or director or contestant but you very seldom see bashing regarding natural pageants. This is probably because when those people are disappointed they are more reserved about it and also because they don't take it so seriously. Most of the middle/upper class people that do pageants see it as only a small part of their lives whereas a lot of the other people, the blue collar, lower income ones, for them it IS their life. Not winning supreme at a pageant is life or death to them.
In reply to: Hope this just opens conversation and not a bash fest! 's message, "Not meant as a bash, but this is akin to mobile homes. The glitzier the better for those income levels! Classier people tend to seek out neighborhoods, site built homes, and conventional mortgages. It's a matter of how the person was brought up. Also, I see that the children at the Glitzier pageants are more untrained, heathen types, whereas at a small local Sunday dress pageant, the children and adults are very well behaved." on 13:37:51 05/03/02 Fri

Class is not in the title you win it is how gracious you are as a winner. If children only feel validated if they win then they might grow up to be very unhappy people. -- Thanks for posting this...I hope it opens some closed minds..., 02:17:48 05/04/02 Sat

[> [> [> [> [> [> AGREE!!!!! And class has no monetary connection. It's in breeding and upbringing. It is not the inf your face attitude, the attack, the know it all and the pushy. It is about decency, respect, cordiality, and manners. It is a lifestyle. Some boards seem to draw out the trashy posters. Ignorance is not bliss after all! -- Enjoying the conversation ladies! Hope it continues., 06:09:16 05/04/02 Sat
