[> Re:We went last year and had a blast! Yes, crowning was long but what else could you expect with that many pageants? I preferred that type of crowning ceremony over type done at Expo (not a bash, JMO). There were tons of pageants to do with entry fees that were as low as 15.00. It could be as cheap or as expensive as you wanted it to be - enter 1 or 2 pageants and watch or enter a bunch and participate. It was your choice. -- Rhonda sometimes gets carried away with the dollaring you to death, maybe she will tone it down. That wasn't enough to take away from the fun. Go see for yourself, that is always the best advice., 07:49:32 06/04/02 Tue

[> Pageant Camp started out okay at the beginning but as the weekend progressed it went down hill -- My husband and I also felt like we were taken advantage of, and yes crowning was extremely long. I think crowning lasted till almost midnight. My kids normally go to bed at 9 pm and midnight was way to late. My daughter was rushed from one pageant line up to the next, there was not even enough time to breath between line ups. It was very unorganized. -- We have decided not to return this year. We are going to six flags instead! The kids picked six flags over camp!, 09:34:20 06/04/02 Tue

[> Re: We can't wait!! We went last year and had a blast and are ready to go again this year. We are having a hard time narrowing down which pageants to do (limited budget you know) and all the directors are so nice and sweet. Several directors I have spoken with say their numbers are looking pretty good and we think that is great, because we go not only for competition, but to meet lots of friends. -- The majority of systems from last year are going to be returning plus several more!!! So many to choose from!, 12:23:01 06/04/02 Tue

We had a blast last year. Yes, crowning did run late, but when we go to pageants, regular bed times and wake up times are not followed, same goes for meal times. This is at any pageant, not just pageant camp. We got to meet a lot of new people and try out a lot systems we hadn't done before.

[> Yes, there were a lot of pageants at pageant camp last year, lot's to choose from. But, it was an unorganized mess. Crowning was horrible. I gave up and sent my daughter to bed because it was taking so long and she was exhausted. Now, how that is better then the crowning at Expo I will never know. Maybe some people like chaotic messes. -- As for Rhonda and her constant money grubbing-- that got really annoying! I don't think I could stand another week end of it, so we are staying home! Good luck to anyone who endures another year., 16:16:58 06/04/02 Tue

[ Edit | View ]

[> [> And is everyone forgetting the mess with the photogenics? Half the time the judges couldn't find all the photos they needed to judge....some were here, some where there...left unattened in open rooms!!! I am sorry but I think that people (I know that I do) pay WAY too much money for some of these photos to just be thrown around and NOT know where they are!! Crowning was a TOTAL mess!! There was alot to choose from but everything seemed so rushed (except for crowning) that you didn't have time to "enjoy" the fun. -- jmo--and before you say I am bashing RT or D&P your wrong. I have nothing against either and will continue to go to D&P.......just not camp this year, 08:28:34 06/05/02 Wed

[ Edit | View ]

[> [> [> OMG! If you thought the way that photogenics were handled at Camp then you would really be horrified to see what happened to them at the recent Oklahoma pageant! -- After seeing that, I would NEVER hand my photos over to a D&P pageant, or anyone associated with D&P, 19:52:15 06/05/02 Wed

[> [> I forgot about the Photo's! I remember it now! It was an unorganized mess. I even remember getting my photos back and they were not in the same shape as we left them. -- We are skipping pageant camp this year !, 08:43:20 06/05/02 Wed

[> Not going. A few months ago I really thought I'd like to go but I've seen so much ugliness coming from that camp that I have decided to make a statement & boycott it -- don't think I'm the only one who feels this way, 09:24:46 06/05/02 Wed

[ Edit | View ]

[> [> Re: Name one ugly thing coming from the camp? I would hardly call stating what a positive experience one had as ugly. Likewise, telling those who are bashing it is probably better they are not attending because negative attitudes are not wanted is not ugly. So please, be more specific on anything you see that is ugly. -- No name, 10:08:44 06/05/02 Wed

[> [> We are also boycotting camp this year. -- I know of at least four other people who are also boycotting. It may not mean anything to RT but at least we are making the statement., 19:50:09 06/05/02 Wed
