Subject: Honorary Druid - still can't get blood

I still can't collect the watered blood. I have a bottle (a red bottle from the cottage in Scrogden), and it's open and empty. I went to the altar at midnight on a full moon and waited for the sacrificial blood to start down the aqueduct. I went to the place on the outer circle where the water emerges and said "fill bottle with water". It just says I can't do it. I'm at the right place; if I try other places, it says it can't find water.

What am I doing wrong? Do I need a particular bottle or something?
