I was thinking the same thing. If you use a couple of the things sold from the make up stall on Waterfall Lane (nails, mascara,..) then your description will change from something like "He looks like a.." to "She looks like...". But it doesnt fool the guard though. There are also a couple of clothes in the Dressing room of the Mcsweeney estate but no luck with those neither.

Then again, maybe you dont need to trick the guard, you can get to the Women's wing from the bedroom in the Men's wing through a secret passage. But im not so sure what im suposed to do in the Womens wing.
