Actually you're wrong on a number of counts.
The first life at pishe's pool normally costs 2 or 3 royals but the price goes up according to the number of lives bought and the age of the char.

There is a cheaper way to get lives. Find the golden chicken in cwc, feed it and squeeze it. If you can successfully complete the instructions the egg gives you you will get a new life - if you fail you will have lost the money you needed to spend to buy the food. cost equates to about 60 dollars a life if you get it right first time.
