Redang to Perhentian by boat is certainly possible as long as you're willing to pay for it. However, it's something you might want to enquire and arrange in advance with the resort you are staying at in Redang. There are no regular boat services between the islands, so it's got to be on charter or special arrangement which means price is negotiable.

As for 'best' resort in Redang, that really depends on your criteria and what you are looking for. Check out the Resorts section on my main website to help you decide. In general, resorts in Redang tend to be slightly more upmarket than Perhentian e.g. even 'budget' resorts are air-con with attached bathrooms. By comparison, budget resorts in Perhentian can be very basic with non-aircon chalets/huts with common bathrooms. If you need more creature comforts in Perhentian, try Perhentian Island Resort, Coral View, Tuna Bay, Arwana or Bubu Long Beach.

>Hi,

We just visited perhentian and visited redang as a day trip. Perhentian hotels do organise day trips to redang so it may be a better idea to start from perhentian and then go over to redang. However, they do operate with a minimum number of people needed. We were told that to charter a boat it will cost us about RM 600. In our case, luckily there are sufficient guest and we only have to pay RM70 each for the day trip. hope the information helps
