Since you are staying in Berjaya, then it is actually very easy but can also be very expensive. Once you arrive, head straight to their recreation counter and i am sure they will be able to handle it for you. Alternatively, you could walk a short distance to the village from Berjaya and make arrangements at one of the nearby restaurants. Almost all of them offer tourist boat services but i am not sure what is the going rate at the moment. It used to cost me about RM500 - RM600 to charter the boat to Perhentian.

In Perhentian it is actually much easier because they have regular trips to Redang. You just have to ask the sea-taxis and they will be able to give you more detail. The rates last time was about RM60 - RM80 per person. I am very sure there is a discount for the kids.

Good info. What was the size of the boat? 20 footer 26 footer. Outboard or inboard motors?
