Subject: Construction work at Berjaya Beach Resort

Hi,
I am writing from Austria and would need some quick information on the construction going on at the Berjaya Beach Resort. My wife and I are planning a trip to Malaysia this July and we would like to stay at the Berjaya Beach Resort; we just fell in love with it when we found it in the brochures. My travel agency confirmed construction going on there at the moment (100 rooms) but assured that there won`t be any disturbances due to construction.
This answer was no surprise to me, of course.
Who knows anything about this problem in details? When will they be finished?
I do not want to fly all the long way from Europe to find myself surrounded by bulldozers , cement and noise.

I have another question as well: Is it advisable to book half board at Berjaya Beach Resort or are the prices a la carte reasonable? Are there any other restaurants near by which are okay in price and quality?
Are there roads on the island and villages?

Thanks everyone for a quick reply!

Best wishes,

Rudolph
