Subject: which resort better?

hi, need some recommendations between the below resorts:
redang beach, and
redang holiday

redang beach is between laguna and redang lagoon. i think the beach area there is pretty crowded. those who have been there, wat do u think of the facilities? for eg, how's their canteen ambience at nite? room aircon ok?

compared to redang holiday, which is situated "far away" from all other resorts. i reckon it'll be less crowded (preferred). again, how's their room and the general ambience?

any pointers appreciated, thanks.

i only left with these two to make bookings..

Visited both but not stayed at either. Good impressions of both. Holiday has a more rustic, back-to-nature feel while Beach has a livelier character.

If you prefer more privacy, quiet and fewer people, you'll probably find Holiday better - it's sufficiently far away from the other resorts that their beach & housereef isn't crowded and you'll have less 'pass-by' traffic. If you want more privacy, stay at their villas. The ones on the hill overlooking the sea are gorgeous (but may not be so safe if you have kids running around). I just enjoy sitting at their outdoor dining patio at night and enjoying the stars above.

The beach in front of Redang Beach will definitely be more crowded compared to Holiday's beach, but better suited for those who like people-watching or enjoy being in a livelier place with a lot more things happening. Their accommodation is new and looks quite cosy. I enjoy eating at their outdoor restaurant, Summerpoint. Nice ambience at night too.

thx for the feedback alex. i saw the pics on the resorts webpage and Holiday's chalets don't look that nice. wonder if those are the villas? coz if i go Holiday i'll be taking the semi-d, wonder if those are in the photos?

hard to decide, haha.. i'm more familiar with the redang lagoon beach/sea and i know it's nice for snorkelling. Holiday side i dono. shd have explored more last time.

i've asked Holiday and was told need to climb a bit of stairs, for the seaview semi-d. overlooking the sea and other resorts. seems ok. but it's quite a walk from the other "mor happening" place.

Hi,
just stayed at Holiday Villa in one of the semi-d's with sea-view. The greatest place if you like it quiet - the southern end of the beach would have been much too crowded for our taste (Singapore National Day long weekend). The rooms can actually accommodate 6 persons, with 2 doubles plus one double in the loft, that can be reached by a ladder. The rooms are simple and beautiful with air-con and the greatest view! The only thing we missed was a reading light next to the beds.
Being Europeans, our kids could not take the very local and therefore very hot food at Holiday though, we therefore chose 'Summerpoint' as our regular dining spot.
Holiday's beautifully located bar on the rocks seems to be most popular during Happy Hours.
