From Sungai Petani, about 5-7 hrs. Depends on whether there is a lot of lorries on the road. I tried early morning (3am frm SP) and made good time. Tried it early evening (8pm) and was stuck for a long time. During the day there are a lot of cars, at night, lorries. Hehehe. If you're using the east west highway dont forget to stop at a rest stop on top of the mountain(i forgot the name) abt 2 hrs from Jeli and 1+ from Grik. The view is spectacular at sunrise and sunset (except that they dont open that early in the morning.)
