Rich,
I was disapointed to see that you weren't happy with your experience at Slam
City Jam. Had you contacted me or my assoiciate media director Ere'n on
site we would have clarified some of your concerns. A core media pass (red)
permits you access to the contest floor but does not give you access to the
ramps. This was clearly outlined in the FAQ on the website, on the form
that confirms your accreditation and in the telephone conversation Ere'n had
with you on the phone prior to the event. All of our staff were instructed
as to what each colour of wrist band meant and if you were misinformed our
sincere apologies. There were also signs clearly posted at the media access
areas describing exactly what each band permitted access to (blue=general
media, red=coremedia floor access)and if there was any confusion I only wish
that you had spoken with either of us. Restrictions on floor access at Slam
City are at the behest of the skaters who have complained in past years
about too many people on the floor. Vert Ramp access is and was only granted
to core skateboard publications.
It is unfortunate that you have painted Slam City Jam in such a disagreeable
light, however, we try our best to foster an all-inclusive environment and
realize it's impossible to please everyone.
