I totally agree with you. For the majority of my life I have been a Christian, and as a youth.......I saw Journey live......and when He put this reocrding out....I couldn't get enough of it. It has haunted me that Journey left him after all He had done for them.....and today......5-4-04, I was going through some of my older tapes.....and I found "Street Talk," and I was so thrilled........I put in the 740il and life was so awesome again. My kids love Journey......but they love Steve Perry more.......and they are stoked that I found it. I still listen to 99% Christian music......but steve Perry has never written anything that offended my Christianity......and my kids 12, 9, and 5 would rather listen to his stuff that anything else on the radio. In a world that is constantly changing......and where music is starting to get trashy.......I can pop in any CD.......or tape of Steve Perry/Journey.....and feel good about the music they are hearing. This is totally awesome......:)

Steve out did himself on his 1st solo CD. Every song is fantastic. I especially like the lyrics to Foolish Heart, My, my, my, Don't Tell Me Why You're Leaving (love the R&B sound), Only for the Moment, Girl! It would be wonderful if he would consider doing a raunchy R&B CD with a slice of Sam Cooke (Cupid) on the side. You go Steve! Miss hearing the "VOICE"!!!!!!

Kudos to Steve Perry and friends for this LP. Every song Rocks and brings tears to my eyes because it is so beautiful lyrically and musically . It is full of emotion and beauty. Thank you for the layering of instruments especially the saxaphone. "Captured By The Moment" is a timeless song and it is one of my all time favorites. Thank You for the childrens sound effects...it reminds me of "Story Book Love" by another great band named "Airkraft" My LP has pops and snaps in it and I like them religiously too but I'm thinking I better break down and by a new LP!

Hey, if you are her cousin. What else do you know about them? Like whatever happened to Oh Sherrie? What became of her?

Does anyone have the tabs for Foolish Heart by Steve Perry and popularized locally (Philippines) by Nina? Thanks.

I've just bought this CD, my brother owned it and I knew Oh Sherrie and Foolish Heart, but I've never paid attention to it, and all I can say is that's absolutely awesome, it's an A+ masterpiece and I can's stop listening to it. My favourites are Running alone, Oh Sherrie, I Believe, She's mine and Captured by the moment.

Después de muchos años pude comprar este CD. Ya había escuchado muchas veces "Oh, Sherrie", en la década de los 80' y dos canciones más en las radios de mi país. Me gustó mucho "I believe". Tiene harto ritmo, es pegajosa, invita a bailar. Realmente me gustó mucho.

Humm, I bought a copy of Street Talk on cassette 1984, in the Bahamas for a visit while I was in the Navy.
I admired the vocal talent SUPREME, since I was 14 with Journey's 1979 release of Evolution. Captured by the Moment and Running Alone are my favorite cuts on Street Talk "I Believe that every soul has a song to sing" those words I understand. I Believe Mr Perry was at ease and comfortable when he did this album and I believe that song writting and singing does the soul good. Another Belief I have is many of Mr Perry's fans await one more solo project, and a possible tour?

I just listened to Steve Perry's "Street Talk," and I think it's a great Soul/Pop crossover album.

The first tune, "Oh, Sherrie," is a great rocker. I think that Journey's "Raised On Radio" album is reminiscent of this tune. It has great vocal by Steve Perry, and Michael Landeau is really good on guitar.

The second song, "I Believe," is a great soul tune. It kind of reminds me of a male version of a Supremes' tune. It's soulful and upbeat! I also like the sax solo.

"Go Away," is a bit slower and a lot smoother. I think there's a soft and smooth way Steve Perry croons with feeling on this, with a great, heartfelt guitar solo.

"Foolish Heart," is a really nice ballad with beautiful keyboard flourishes and smooth vocal inflections.

"It's Only Love," is a great mid-tempo rocker with a lot of screamin' soul from Steve Perry and a rockin' guitar solo from Michael Landeau.

"She's Mine," is a nice, mid-tempo, soul tune with great vocals, but even though I like playing the sax, Steve Douglas' solo doesn't impress me.

"You Should Be Happy," is nice mid-tempo soul/rock, with good vocals from Steve Perry, but Michael's guitar work is just OK.

"Running Alone," is an OK ballad. The only thing it has going for it is good vocal from Steve Perry.

"Captured By The Moment," is good. Steve's voice is good, and Michael has a good guitar riff going.

And last, but not least, "Strung Out," is a great rocker to finish off the album. Steve Perry's vocal inflections are great; and Michael Landeau's guitar solo is really good on this one.

It's soul/pop at its best, and it was probably the best time for Steve to leave Journey and record a solo album. It's just a shame that he hasn't done more lately.
