Personally I dont run a lot of miles and I know a lot of other Canadian High Schoolers don't either, but i think you should keep in mind we are in highschool. So who really cares. All these U.S. guys can go ahead and pound out the miles, thats great, thye will run great times. There is no doubt in mind if i trained as hard as them i would run faster. BUt i dont think 17-18 is an important age for distance runner aspiring for greatness. None of us highschoolers are gonna make the olympics, and we wouldnt if we ran huge milage. Just look at a lot of Junior record holders, they dont progress, they are great as highschoolers, but who really cares when you look at the big picture.
