Nige was obviously still hurt...

With regards to Hayden. It looks as if he ran well but unless this race is of primary importance the results may not be what you want. Look at Sullivan, if he was to concentrate solely on this 4km, he would be in the top ten. His focus is going to revolve around the Worlds in the summer. If Hayden would have raced the worlds in December I have a feeling that he would have finished in the top group. The training that he was more than likely doing this past wwinter obviously kept him strong as well as allowed him to make the NCAA Mile final. It was not I am guessing geared towards a foot of mud against the worlds best. Ritz ran awesome (best in 20 years by an american). Remember, he skipped the USA indoor meet to fully concentrate. IT WORKED... Remember last year Ritz ran 14.12 or so. he was running against a group of Open runners trying to gain the Olympic Trials standard. It was very windy and he was forced to run many of the difficult laps. He was passed with 300 to go and was beaten by 6 - 7 sec. This tells me that if he was following he probbably would have run the 14.05-6 that the winner ran. I am guessing that if it was a high profile meet with many of the best college guy's he would have run 13.50- 55. I am guessing that he will run 13.37-45 this year for 5000m. These might be some of the reasons Haden was not up with Ritz. Great job Canada, you had a great weekend.
