The reason you'll see elite athletes in certain shoes is because they're sponsored by that shoe manufacturer. The Kenyans are sponsored by Puma, so you'll see a lot of Harambees. In the states and Canada, you'll probably see more Jasaris because Nike sponsors more North Americans.

If some crappy shoe company had enough money to sponsor a lot of athletes, you'd see tons of guys wearing their crappy shoes.
