Subject: Clarke County Forestry Pageant in Athens Georgia

The Clarke County Forestry Scholarship Pageant will be held at 5 p.m., Nov. 29 at the Athens Little Playhouse, and is open to girls and women ages birth to 23 years. Winners will represent Clarke County in the 65th Miss Georgia Forestry Pageant, the oldest scholarship pageant in the state. The Miss Georgia Forestry Pageants, held in June, give more than $120,000 yearly in cash and college scholarships. Winners also receive more than $2,000 in age-appropriate gifts.
The statewide winner of the 17-23 age group will be named Miss Georgia Forestry, and in addition to the scholarship and prizes, will have all her expenses paid to travel the state promoting forestry and being paid for her appearances.
The Clarke County queens will be responsible for promoting forestry for Clarke County but are not prohibited from competing in other pageants. Contestants in age groups 16 and younger may be from surrounding counties, but anyone who wishes to enter the Miss division (age 17-23) must work, live or attend school in Clarke County.
