Subject: HOW FAR WILL THIS GO?

This has been bothering me for sometime and thought I would post it here and see what you thought since I see their are so many differant opinions on this board. 1st. I think it's GREAT that more and more pageants are offering a natural division. My daughter compete's in both natural and glitz. But the path pageants are heading in is scary to me and I am on a decision path right now as to wether I want her to continue in them. Now she has competted on local and national level so I know all about both levels in pageants. I think we as Moms need to take a stand and either STOP giving these people our money OR put a STOP to our children being degraded right under our noses. What do I mean by that you ask? Come on Moms, we have all these BRIGHT colors in dresses and other pageant attire, you cant say it doesn't look like Moulin Rouge when their on stage in a line up. We have the FAKE EVERYTHING now. I think I had a wake up call when I went to a pageant a few weeks ago and met this little girl and her Mom. I have seen pics of the little girl and was SHOCKED it was the same little girl when I seen her as herself. We have the FAKE hair, teeth, tans, eye color, hair color, etc on LITTLE ONES as young as 2! I just am very disapointed in the direction pageants have gone. IT'S A PLAYGROUND for petifiles! And I can bet they are at ALOT of them just waiting for that moment when Moms not watching to either snatch them up or worse! I am not sure what this is teaching our daughters these days about beauty, self esteem, sportmanship and so on. What is it teaching our daughters? To flaunt what they have at their expense, that they have to have all the FAKE to look real or attractive? That little susie even though shes your daughters best friend is a low down dirty brat because she beat your child? WE ARE WHAT MAKES PAGEANT! NOT THE DIRECTORS OR H&M, PHOTOGRAPHERS ETC...WE ARE! AND WE ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO CAN CHANGE THIS! Its only a matter of time before we have a nuther Ramsy case. How many more have to die Moms!? Because it could be mine or yours next before WE WAKE UP and see the light! Lets get a gripe on this and stop this crap! It's gone to far!!
