Subject: Wearing watch upside down

Why do some people wear their watches with the face on the under side of their wrist? I remember in the 80's a lot of people wore Swatches like that. I seem to remember this in the 60's too. Last week at a hockey game there was a teenager next to me wearing his watch (leather band type) upside down. He was very polite, I was going to ask him why he wears his watch like that but they left and didn't return. Is this just a way of being different? This teen also had his visor backwards and upside down!
I was always wondering about the upside down watch thing.
