Chapter 54
Oh yeah Lib did kiss her, and Krys responded. It had been so long since she had the attention of a guy like this and it felt good. So, the kiss got deeper and steamier- Lib stopped suddenly
Lib: C’mon lets go upstairs to my room.
Both of them jumped out of the car and could barely keep their hands off each other.
They got into Lib’s room and without wasting time, the clothes came off and they barely made it onto the bed before Krys climbed on top of Lib…
At Des’ house, Des was still sleeping. Lami made his way upstairs after he realised that banging his head against a wall could not solve his problems. He went up into Des’ room. He looked around- typical Des. Everything somehow proper in their own way- the books had their space, clothes had the closet, everything belonged.
He walked up to the bed and sat quietly on it, he sat on the side of the bed Des slept and faced. Her sleep expressions were so sweet, the way she wrinkled her nose, the way her eyelids fluttered. He brushed a wisp of her hair from her face and stroked her chin. He remembered how long it took for him to get her- him losing her due to his stupidity. No matter what Krys said or how much she blackmailed him for, he wasn’t leaving this dime.
Des [with her eyes closed]: Lami, if you keep staring at me, how am I gonna sleep?
Lami was surprised
Lami: How did you know I was around?
Des [her eyes still closed]: One, I sleep light, two, I felt the extra pressure of your ass on my bed and three [opening her eyes], because you are so damn fine I had to wake up!
She sat up and kissed Lami, he enveloped her into a hug and sat properly on the bed. They were like that for a while, content, until when Lami spoke up
Lami: Krys came by today
Des: Really? Why?
Lami: Well, she wanted to talk about somethings
Des: Like?
Lami: Me not loving her anymore and why I moved on quickly- things like that
Des: Uh- uh so what did you tell her?
Lami: The truth. That she broke up with me first and all. She said I moved on quickly after she broke up with me, but what was I expected to do, sit around and mope? I tried for a while but when Letonia that heffa wouldn’t leave me alone, I decided it wasn’t worth it.
Des: She makes it seem like after her, I came along. Doesn’t she remember it was always me- she took you from me in the first place, that’s how I ended with Lib!
Lami: I know, its always been you.
Des: Is she mad at me?
Lami: No, this is between me and her. If she blames you then that’ll be real stupid. I know she took a bullet for me, and for that I am grateful, but I can’t be with her after all she’d done?
Des: I know baby its ok. You know her, she’ll move on soon
Lami: Probably to Lib
Des and Lami looked at each other and shook their heads
Both of them: Nah
Later that day, Annette and Diane came home. They had been out shopping. Now, they were in the living room- Des and Lami were in the kitchen
Annette: Kids! We wanna talk to y’all!
Diane: Yeah, get your cute asses over here now!
Des and Lami grudgingly headed towards the living room. Des was about to kiss Lami when he had some raspberry jam on his lips, so she was kinda ticked about that, but anyways, both her and Lami went.
Des: So what’s up?
Annette: Sit down
Lami and Des sat opposite their moms but they sat apart on the same couch.
Diane: We wanted to talk to you guys about something, especially you Lami
Lami: Whatever it is, I ain’t done it- Des did
Des [indignantly]: Hey!
Diane: No, its nothing like that no one’s done anything. Y’know Lams we’re meant to be heading back to New York on Sunday right? Which is exactly a week from today
Lams: Yeah?
Diane: You know why we have to go right?
Lams: Yeah I do, with me getting in trouble and stuff here, I know
Diane: Well honey, I decided we should stay here
Des and Lami: WHAT?
Annette: Yeah. We discussed it and I felt that Lami you should be allowed to stay here. You have your life here not New York
Lams [so surprised]: For real?
Diane: Yeah for real. Ann’s really helping me out, and I got a job as a management consultant with this big company Packmann
Des: Ma, isn’t that Uncle Larry’s company?
Annette: Yeah. I talked to Larry and I told him if he still wanted a sister and a lawyer, he had to give the job to Diane, cos she’s well qualified for it and can do it very well.
Des got up to hug her mom
Des: ma, thank you so much! You’re the best mother in the world
Lams: So we’re staying for real? But we don’t have a place of our own to stay!
Diane: Actually we do. Y’know all the time Ann and I have been going out and stuff, it’s been to find a place for us- our own house. With the money I’ll be making, we can afford a place of our own now
Lams looked so happy, he began jumping around the room in joy. Everyone could only look at him and laugh until
Diane: Ok Lams but that’s not the end of it
Lams: you mean there’s more?
Diane: Yeah, so sit down and hear it all
Lams returned to his seat
Diane: I know you’re a good kid and things that have been happening to you were simply part of your growing up and mixing with the wrong crowd. But I need you to promise me one thing
Lams: Which is?
Diane: You stay out of trouble and keep your grades up
Lams: Hell yeah! I’ll do that, I promise you
Diane: Good. Break that promise and I’ll ship you to boarding school…in Afghanistan!
Des and Lami shrunk
Des: Oooh Lams, you don’t want that
Lams: I know. Thank you ma, thank you so much! Thanks Aunt Annette
Annette: its okay. I need me a new friend anyway
All of them laughed
Diane: But we’re still moving- to our new house!
Lams: So when do I get to see it?
Diane: We all could go and see it now. Its on Bellview Road
At this, Des and Lami stopped and looked at each other
Des: Did you just say Bellview road?
Diane: Yeah why?
Lami: Talib lives on that road!
Annette: You mean Des’ ex, the one who called that gang on you?
Des: The one and only
Diane: That isn’t going to be a problem, no one’s gonna mess with my baby any more, especially some punk ass snotty nose kid. I’mma kung fu his ass from here to Japan
All of them laughed
Annette: Don’t worry about him. Focus on building your life and your future.
Des: Yeah. If the houses are far apart then that’s cool, no more drama remember?
Lams: Yeah. I’m not fighting anymore, I have to be decent and let his bony ass go.
Diane: Thas my baby.
Annette: Now y’all go get ready, we leave in an hour’s time
Des and Lami ran upstairs, both play fighting for the bathroom.
Now lets go back to Lib and Krystina. They were both still in bed. Krys had to admit, Lib was good…but not as good as Lams. But she decided to put Lams out of her mind. They were no more and her and Lib were together now basically.
However, Lib was thinking this wasn’t such a good idea anyway. He liked Krys and he knew sleeping with her would be easy cos of her rep, but he still loved Des- even though it was clear that they were no more. Krys was here for him and that was all that mattered.
Krys: Lib you ok?
Lib: Yeah I’m fine.
Krys: Lib, just wanna tell you thanks for being here for me when I needed you
Lib: Same here, thanks Krys
Lib got up to have a shower and as he did, he looked out of the window and thought he saw Des, he shook his head. Probably all that thinking of her made him see her
Krys lay on the bed, falling asleep for the second time. It was nice being with Lib, he’s a really sweet dude.
Now, same day, but lets fast forward. Des, Lami and their moms were at Bellview Road checking out Lami’s new house. It was pretty big for two people to live in. It had 3 bedrooms and a study. Two of the bedrooms were en suite with bathroom and toilet. There was another bathroom further down the hall upstairs which was the general bathroom basically. It had a garage, a big kitchen, a comfortably sized front lawn which was paved. at the back of the house, was a little garden with a mini fountain [i.e. Cupid shooting a water arrow]. The living room was big as well. All in all, it was a very nice house. Now all it needed was furniture.
Des and Lami were upstairs in the new house and their moms were downstairs in the kitchen discussing furniture patterns. Des and Lami went into Lams new bedroom, she was at one end of the room
Des: Wow, your house is tyte!
Lams didn’t reply, but he came over to her, pulled her into the en suite bathroom and began kissing her against the closed door
Des: Lams, what are you doing
Lams: Showing you how much I love you. If you weren’t in my life, all these wouldn’t be possible, thank you. Plus I wanted some more time with you now
Des: Awww
But before she could say anything, he already had his lips on hers again.
At Lib’s house, Krys had stayed the whole day and it was around 7pm, time to go home. Lib was seeing her to the door, but he decided to walk her to where her car was parked, up the road.
Krys: So when next will I see you?
Lib: How about tomorrow? We could go to Frostys
Krys smiled
Krys: that’ll be fine
They were walking up the road when they saw a sold sign outside one of the houses which was about 10 houses from Lib’s house. The front door was open and the car parked outside looked familiar to Lib and Krys
Krys: I guess y’all are getting new neighbours
Lib: I know, wonder who they are
Lib saw Krys to her car which was parked a little further down. They made plans for tomorrow. On his way walking back, Lib tried to get a glimpse of whoever their new neighbours were, but he saw no one.
Later that night, Des was back at her house. All four of them had been discussing furniture and designing the house. The moms had already done some furniture window shopping and had catalogues from the stores they went to. They sent Lams upstairs with a couple for him to decide what he wanted for his room. He was in Des’ bedroom with her, looking over catalogues and basically having fun.
Des: We should call Cat and the others and tell them the good news
Lams: True.
Des got the phone and dialled Cat. She knew they’d be together, usually at Cat’s. Cat picked it up
Des: Hey girl its me Des
Cat: Des? How are you? I been meaning to call you today but Jiz keeps keeping me busy somehow
Des: Uh- Uh whatever. Yo, we got some good news to tell y’all
Cat: For real? Ok what is it?
Des: Lams is staying
Cat: What? Hold on a sec, lemme call Jiz
Cat hollers for Jiz, whose voice we hear in the background ‘What?’ he asked. Cat told him to shush and listen to Des on the phone
Jiz: Des whassup? Why your girl hollering my name like this? I ain’t done nothing to her, for like the past half hour!
Des: Euuugh, I really don’t wanna know Jiz. Lams and I got good news
Jiz: Which is?
Des: Lams is staying
Jiz: What? For real?
Des: Yeah, his mom came and surprised him with it today. They even have their own house!
Cat: Wow! That is so cool. Congratulations Lami, we get to see your cute face around!
Jiz: Hey! Des, is the nizzle fo’ shizzle around?
Des: Yeah, hold on for him
She passes the phone on to Lami who’s talking to Jiz and a very happy Cat
Lami: Hey
Jiz: Whassup dog, heard you’re here to stay
Lams: I know, ain’t that cool?
Jiz: For sure, for a sec there, I thought I’d be saying bye to you…again
Lams laughed
Lams: Nah. I’m here to stay as long as I stay outta trouble and keep my grades up
Jiz: That’ll be easy for you. Your girlfriend is a straight A honour rolling student.
Lams: Yeah. But guess where my new house is?
Cat: Where?
Lams: Its on Bellview road
Cat and Jiz: What?
Cat: Ain’t that Lib’s road?
Lams: Yup
Jiz: Oh boy
Cat: That is so weird!
Lams: Its ok, I’m not fighting anyone and I got better things to do with my time. Plus the houses are far from each other- about 10 so no need for him to be scared
Jiz: Lib can’t do nothing to you. He’s one weak ass ni**a.
Lams: He ain’t my problem though.
Cat: you go Lami, taking the high road. Well congratulations though. When are you guys moving?
Lams: Sunday. But I gotta get new furniture and have it put in then.
Cat: That’s cool. Go for some nice mahogany furniture, it really looks good
Lams [laughing]: Thank you Dolce & Gabbanna. I got Des here helping me choose
Cat: Aiight then. That’s cool, cos I taught her everything she knew about style
Des heard this comment and yelled
Des: Whatever chica! You lie like that welcome mat in front of your door
All of them burst out laughing
Lams: Anyways, I gotta go. We have to call Jamal and Jackie and tell them the news
Jiz: Aiight then dog, good to have you back
Lams: Yeah, we’ll see y’all later
Cat: Bye
Des: Bye
Jiz: Bye
Lams: Bye
And they hung up. Lams dialled Jamal’s number, Mal picked it up
Mal: Hello?
Lams: Dude its me Lams
Mal: Hey man, whassup?
Lams: A lot. Guess what?
Mal: What? What has happened now?
Lams: Its all good news. I’m staying here for real
Mal: As in you’re not leaving for New York anymore?
Lams: Yup!
Mal: That’s so cool! What happened?
Lams: Well, Des’ mom helped my mom get a job at Packmann’s, which apparently is owned by Des’ uncle.
Mal: Wow! That girl got more connections than MCI!
Lams: I know! Plus, we got our own crib now, but guess where it is?
Mal: Where?
Lams: Bellview road
Mal: Bellview Road? Ain’t that Lib’s street
Lams: Yeah
Mal: Uh-oh
Lams: Don’t worry, I’ll be fine, he can’t do anything to me.
Mal: True
Lams: I gotta be good and not scrap anymore, I promised my momma and Des, no more drama
Mal: Aiight then.
Lams: We’re moving on Sunday, but I gotta buy furniture
Mal: You better pick some good ones ok? Unlike your last room, let this one be normal looking
Lams: As long as it got some Superman stuff in it, it’ll be home
Mal [laughing]: Whatever
Lams: How’s Jackie by the way?
Mal: She’s fine, we just came back from her Lamars class. Being 6½ months pregnant ain’t no easy joke
Lams: Has it been six months already?
Mal: She was over three months when you left for NYC, and time has passed
Lams: Wow! Is she there?
Mal: She’s in the bathroom
Lams: Aiight, tell her Des and I said hi. I gotta go now, I just wanted to give you the good news
Mal: Aiight then. Thanx dude
Lams: Later Mal
Mal: Later Lams.
They both hung up
Lams [to Des]: Today has to be one of the best days of my life. I got you as my girl, I get to live in one phat crib, and my momma’s doing a decent job
Des smiled and sat even closer
Des: So what other days were good in your life?
Lams: Well, the day I first saw you, I could have died cos you were so fine, and you didn’t know you were that fine. I remember that time you used to be so shy with me
Des hit him lightly
Lams: What?
Des: I wasn’t shy, I was just careful
Lams: Whatever. Also, the day you came over to mine in New York, even in wet clothes you were still so fine. And then you changed into dry clothes, I was speechless
Des: That day was the first time we kissed
Lams: Yeah, and I’m glad it wasn’t the last
Des: Me too.
Des pulled him forward and began to kiss him
The next day and the days after it, Lams and his mom picked out furniture for the new house and spent a lot of time in the new house with Des, arranging the house, cleaning it. Diane decided that they should move their clothes so that come Sunday, there would be no work to do. On Wednesday, Lams, Des, Diane and Annette went to NYC to get Lams and Diane’s things. Letonia wasn’t home- her and Caryn [her mom] had a huge argument and she moved out. Lams and Diane said goodbye and thanked Caryn for all her help. They came back the same day. The furniture had been ordered on Monday and they came on Thursday where Des, Lami, Diane and Annette helped put it together and arrange it. Diane paid for extra help from the furniture company i.e. to help her put it together. You’ll wonder where Diane got all these money. She had some money saved up from NYC- a lot since the men paid her very, very well. Plus, Annette was willing to lend her anything else she needed. All the work had to be done this week, Diane was starting work on Monday and she did not want to have to be dealing with moving home as well as starting a new job.
The furniture was set up on Thursday, including TV, DVD and stuff. They had to buy some more equipment as there was more space to fill. Lami got his bedroom fixed up again. His mother insisted that all their old bedroom furniture be given away to charity. The only things they put in the house were their own personal clothes, and the TVs and stuff. As a gift to them, Annette got her friends at Sony to give Lami and his mom new TVs, stereo systems, DVD, for their house- so the ones they had before, they had to take them out again and give to charity.
By Saturday, the house was all done up. All these while, Lib and Lami did not see each other, purely by coincidence, even though Lib went out, he always seemed to miss seeing Lami by 5 minutes.
Annette and Diane went out for dinner on Saturday night and told Des and Lami they could have Cat and the others staying over. The calls were made and everyone was coming, even Tyra and Mia.
The first people to show were Cat and Jiz
Cat: Hey y’all!
Des: Cat!
The girls hugged, Jiz and Lami did the boy hug thing
Jiz: Whassup you lucky dog!
Lami [smiling]: Being lucky I guess
Cat [as all of them went into the living room]: So has anyone else arrived yet?
Des: Nah you guys are the first. Jackie called, they’re on their way
Lami: Yeah and Mia called, they’re coming too
Cat: ooh this’ll be just like old times- we got everyone that counts together
Des: I know
Jackie and Jamal did show up, as well as Cashmere who came with Mia and Tyra. The guys were in the living room playing a game on X-box, and the girls were all in the kitchen
Des: So how y’all doing, its so good to see all of you!
Tyra: I know with all the drama recently, its kinda hard to keep track of everyone
Jackie: Yeah I know, life can get messy
Cat: Well as long as we all here
Suddenly Jackie doubled in pain
Des: Whas wrong J?
Jackie: Oh its nothing, the baby just kicked me!
All the girls were surprised
Cat: Oh My God, for real? When did the baby start kicking?
Jackie: About a week a go
Des: And you didn’t tell us?
Jackie: Everyone was busy and I didn’t want to burden anyone
Des: Burden? Girl you gots to be crazy! It is not a burden, it is good news! You’re one of my best friends, you can never be a burden to me even if you tried
Jackie: Aww that’s sweet!
Mia: Can I call for a group hug?
All the girls gathered together and had a group hug.
Jackie: Mia, Ty, I wanna apologising for not accepting you guys in the beginning of your relationship. It was unfair to you guys and I just didn’t know how to handle the news
Ty: Its ok, we understand
Cashmere: Me too y’all, sorry for giving you guys grief
Mia: Its cool
Cashmere: Cos it seems like you guys have been the most solid relationship we’ve seen for a while. Love is love, no matter who is in the relationship. If its there it’ll conquer all
Des: Amen to that
Cat: So has Krys started talking to you Ty?
Tyra: Nah, we haven’t really spoken in months. It used to hurt me, but now it don’t anymore, I have a life to live
Cashmere: True. Sometimes that girl can be very ignorant
Jackie: What do you mean?
Cashmere: This whole Tyra/Mia thing, and her reputation in school.
Des: She still has that?
Cashmere: Yup. I’ve never known that girl to be faithful to any one guy
Des, Cat and Jackie: What?
Des: What do you mean by her never being faithful
Tyra: She can never be with one guy at once
Cat: But she was with Lami for a while and there was no one else
At that, Cashmere and Tyra began to laugh
Cat: You mean she had other guys apart from Lami?
Tyra: Well, yeah
Cashmere: Do you remember Darren Thomas?
Des: Yeah- dude with the Afro that sat four rows behind us in Literature
Cashmere: She was going out with him
Cat: For real?
Cashmere: Yup. When Lami was first part of CVG and he used to act up, she “turned” to him for comfort, and apparently he was good! Whenever Lami bailed out on her, she went to his.
Des: Wow! How’d you know?
Cashmere: Her ignorant ass would come and tell me. She wouldn’t tell Jackie cos she might tell you and you may wanna rat on her to Lami. And according to her, he was just one of the other guys she had a “thing” with. And Lami’s not the only CVG member she had been with
Jackie: Word?
Cashmere: Yup. She loves the idea of friends fighting over her. How do you think her brother got killed
Cat: You gotta be kidding
Cashmere: If I’m lyin’ I’m dyin. Apparently according to Shawn, two guys were openly dissing Krys calling her a hoe, a slut and how she’d do anything anywhere with anyone, knowing fully well that her brother was there. At first he tried to ignore it, but the guys went into details with how loose Krys was and what she’d been doing. He told them to stop it and they wouldn’t. he got into a fight with the guys and one of them pulled a gun on him and killed him
Everyone fell silent
Des: So that girl ain’t changed one bit?
Tyra: Nope. Nothing is ever her fault, its always someone else to blame
Cashmere: She blames Lami for their breakup, that his going to NYC was unnecessary
Des: But it ain’t true, he had to go, he didn’t want to, plus he gave her the choice of doing it long distance, she said no and I remember him saying she chose to break up with him
Cat: I know she has a good heart and can be a good friend, but she needs to tighten up and start facing the consequences of her actions
Jackie: But can one tell her about this without her thinking we’re ganging up against her?
Tyra: Cash and I have tried but she never listens so we decided to let her be, and be the best friend we can to her
At that point, Lams comes in
Lami: Whassup girls?
All of them: Hey
Lami: How come you fine foxxy cleopatras are hiding here? It’s the new liberated millennium, the women folk do not have to be in the kitchen leaving the men to play X-box!
All of them laughed
Des: We’ll be there in a second baby, we were just talking
Olamide came closer and stood between Mia and Cat
Olamide: Girl talk? Ok who are we talking about now? Talk to me women!
Cat: Lami you so crazy, get out now!
Lams: Nah uh, until you Nubian queens either come out now to join us men I ain’t going nowhere, so you either talk or get out
All the girls were laughing. Lami knew how to make girls feel good and it worked with the girls
Jackie: Fine!
As Jackie made to get up and carry a tray, Lami took it from her
Jackie: Lami give it back!
Lams: No way, you’re having a baby and the last thing you need is anything to strain your back. I’mma give it to Cat here
Cat: Hey!
Lams [sweetly]: Thank you Catrina for being such a wonderful friend and helping beautiful Jackie carry that heavy looking tray of food
Cat was speechless, she looked at Des as if to say ‘wtf’s up with Lami, is this him normally?’, Des could only look at her and smile. Cat took the tray and went out smiling
Lams: Now, Des I’d love to help you now but you’re an independent woman who is more than able and, I’ve seen you carry ¾ of a grand piano- you one strong Neferiti. Now Jackie, I’ll help you to the living room, I can either hold your hand while you give me the lowdown on what y’all were talking about before I came in, or how about a piggy back ride?
Jackie laughed
Jackie: Lams, you so crazy! Holding my hand is fine. I’m not weak y’know
Lams: I know, but me and you don’t really talk that much even though we’re cool. I want us to be friends, now friend talk to me, was Des talking about me? And was it…
He continued as he took Jackie outside, leaving Mia and Tyra in the kitchen with Des
Tyra: Wow, Lami’s really changed! You’re so lucky!
Mia: Between us three, I think among you heteros, you got the best boyfriend
Des: Thank you
They all went outside. As Des left, she was so happy. Lams was a true gentleman, he knew how to keep everyone sweet and happy, especially her.
Lets check up with Krys and Lib. They were at Lib’s chilling. By now, both had admitted to being a couple so it seemed all good. But friends’ wise, they seemed to be getting more and more isolated. Lib had only heard from Jiz twice and Jamal once; Krys had tried calling Jackie who was always out with Jamal shopping, she was meant to hang out with Cashmere today but Cash bailed out on her last minute. She had no one else to call as she wasn’t talking to Tyra yet
Krys: You spoken to the others yet?
Lib: Yeah Jiz gave me a quick call, Jamal called yesterday.
Krys: Heard from Lami?
Lib: I don’t think I will be hearing from him at all. He thinks I set him up
Krys: That’s crazy! Trust Lami to always over react
Lib: Yeah afterall who asked him to join CVG? You heard from Cash and Jackie?
Krys: I was meant to hang with Cash but she bailed out on me, and you know Jackie’s busy with that baby of hers coming. I really don’t care, cos we got each other and that’s all that matters now
Lib: Yeah.
They both gave a long sigh
Back to the others, they were playing truth [w/out the dares]. They’d put their names in a basket and people picked out a name and whoever’s name was chosen, got asked a question by the person who chose their name from the basket. There had been some pretty good ones which put people on the spot.
Cat: Ok y’all next round, Des pass the basket
Des: Aiight
The basket went round and the basket ended up with Cat who picked out Lami’s name
Lami: Uh-oh
Cat [rubbing her hands in joy]: Oooh this is going to be good! Now Lami, tell us 5 things you haven’t told all of us, about you and Des
Lami: Oh God! Ok, firstly I was Des’ secret admirer
Des blushed
Cat: You were the one sending her the rose and stuff?
Lami: Yup, cost me a lot but it was so worth it
Cat: Go on
Lami: Umm, she’s the leading lady in all my songs; she’s spent the night in my bed before; she’s my best friend; and for the past three weeks, I’ve been dreaming about her, every single day
By now, Des had gone beyond blushing
Cat: What kinda dreams?
Lami: Umm some are the types us guys get about their dream girls,
Everyone: Oooh!
Lami: She’s appeared as an angel to me, she rescued me from a burning house once, she was my boss, I saw us in a palace together with twins, a lot of things
Jiz: Wow you remember your dreams well don’t you?
Lami: I write them down as soon as I wake up so I don’t forget, especially if it is about Des
Jackie: Awww ain’t that sweet?
Lami: It ain’t about being sweet, I’m so in love with Des- this ain’t no joke. I’ve never and will never feel this strongly about anyone else. Being in love with Des is the best thing that can ever happen to me
Des was about to cry
Des: Can you excuse us for a moment? Y’all continue with the game
Des got up and pulled Lams up with her and took him to the kitchen.
Des: Did you really mean all you said out there?

They returned to the game later, and the rest of the evening went well, everyone bonded even more. Jackie asked Des, Cat, Tyra, Mia and Cashmere to be her baby’s godmothers and Lami and Jiz to be the godfathers. They all said yes.
The next day, everyone went home, Lami and his mom went to their new home on Bellview Road, Des and Annette took them. They were all spending the day together. Krys and Lib were in the living room when Lib’s little sister came in
Jameelah: Hey y’all whassup?
Krys: Hey Meelah, how’s it going?
Jameelah: Great. A yo Lib how comes you ain’t tell me we got new neighbours?
Lib: Cos your ass ain’t never home!
Jameelah: Whatever bro! How comes you ain’t tell me Lams was moving on to our road!
Krys and Lib sat up
Lib: What you talking about? You been drinking again?
Jameelah: No for real. As I was coming home, I saw Des and Lams getting out of her mom’s ride, and some woman was sitting in the passenger side beside Des’ mom- I think she’s Lami’s mom. I was talking to Lams and Des and they told me, Lams and his momma are living here now, on our road
Krys and Lib: WHAT?...
