Vanin seems rather alert, and reaches for Neicolas's lip ring as soon as he gets the chance. He's very active for a baby so young, and a big boy, too. Neicolas gives a patient sigh and twists his head away; he doesn't fancy having his lip ripped off by a baby. He leans back against an outcropping of rock and squints into the cave; he can't tell where it leads, but from the sound their voices make inside it he can tell approximately what kind of cave it is and how big. It slopes down rather sharply a few feet from where they're standing. He frowns; he doesn't like the idea of trying to pick his way down in the dark with a baby in his arms. Maybe they'd better shift again.

Mavikan shrugs, even though she knows no one can see it from where she's standing. Not far inside the cave it suddenly turns pitch-black, and thanks to a twist in the path, all light from the entrance is blocked. "It's not hard...we've cleared out a path. It goes downhill after several feet, but you should be fine without shifting. Just hold onto the wall." She begins to make her way carefully down the slope a few feet, then pauses to wait for them.
