Orbit

The beautiful blue-green globe of Venhydra hovers amid the swirling clouds below. The moon, Bela, encircles the planet as shuttles carry passengers to and from the Station. Less frequently, fighters and carriers pierce the atmosphere to dissapear into the darkness of deep space.

Deep Space

lands... -- Vladimir, 15:35:24 10/21/03 Tue
Vladimir finishes his nap and breaths a heavy sigh. "I really needed that..." He sits bleary eyed in the cockpit and turn on his commlink. A quiet hissing emerges from it letting him know its on. He swithes to the standard landing platform frequency and begins talking, "Copy me this is Shuttle 420397 I am requesting entrance to the hospitable planet of Venhydra and I am also requeting landing permission in your colony spaceport..." A static-y(?) voices returns his call, "Roger that shuttle 420397, you are clear for landing. Have a nice day." Vladimir flips his commlink into standby mode, takes the controls, and begins his descent...

Allowing the small craft to be pulled into Venhydran orbit, Raven pauses, dark brown gaze following a routine shuttle readying for it's descent into the Venhydra atmosphere. Accelerating the ship, she tucks into the descent directly behind the shuttle.. an effective strategy for preserving your craft from the wear of the firey descent into the atmosphere. Computor and communications also would go down for the few seconds, and so, riding on the tail of the shuttle, Raven descends with ease, pulling away from the transport vehicle before their radar could flash back online. Speeding into an abrupt hook away from the shuttle's course twoard the spaceport, the craft dissapears into the heavy white cloud cover, systems monitoring the shuttle's com as they zip so far undetected twoard the outlands..

She brings her fighter plane into orbit, then into the atmoshere, bringing her plane steadily lower until she reaches the planets surface.

Excited whispers wake the young woman from a dreamless sleep. Blinking her eyes a couple of times, she slowly sits up and looks around to see what had happened. A couple of the passengers were looking out their windows and pointing to something outside the shuttle. Peering out her own window, the green globe, Venhydra, was all that was visible. Though they were still very far away from the planet, she could feel the pilot slowly begin to fly down into the atmosphere, until finally it began to drop faster as it cleared orbit.

the large passenger shuttle comes within sighting of the planet, the flight short from the station. within, travelers view the globe with interest, yet teen gives no more then a glance. reading the novel picked up at the station, the girl takes no notice as the speed slows as the shuttle proceeds to venhydra
