Tell me about it!

I contacted the EA Support site who tried to palm me off with the standard "you need to keep your graphic drivers updated"

Yeah right - it's a brand new GeForce4 - and is upto date.

Finally I got the following email...

Unfortunately in this case I can only put this to an XP issue. I have consulted a colleague regarding this issue who had a query on this earlier in the week who advised me that this error was specifically a windows XP conflict as the game only supports Windows 95/98/ME. The game was developed over a year before the OS was even released and therefore we cannot support its stability on this system, especially running a Geforce 4 as well. This is an extremely new system and does not consist of hardware or software that would have been tested with the game. There is nothing else I can suggest purely because the game just does not support this Operating system.

Well that's just great! The game shouldn't have to support the operating system - it should be the other way around.

Thanks a lot Microsoft >:o(
