I was a patient on and off for three years in the ward where teenagers were who had rheumatic fever and similar illnesses. Most stays were for months at a time and I made many friends there. There was a young children's ward in the unit and a teenage boys ward and a teenage girls ward. We had great fun a lot of the time, as most of us did not feel very sick. I have several photos of the hospital and former patients and doctors and nurses. Hope to spend more time studying the information on the site shortly but its very sad to hear that the buildings are now derelect.
