Ricky,
I'm sorry you feel dissatisfied with the service you received. unfortunately we can no longer attend all unwitnessed thefts.Sadly there is far too few police officers to serve the public in our area, I would urge you to write to your local MP, the more the better! If your house is being burgled I can assure you I would be the first one off my arse!
Burnham police station is only open 8-4 mon to fri. This decision was made after comments like yours were taken into cosideration, YES we were paying a police officer to sit on his fat arse all day when maybe only 2 or 3 people went in. Further more the front desk is manned now by a very experienced & helpfull civillian employee. There is a phone outside for emergencies.
Thanx for your comments (I'm not taking the piss!) without the public's views we don't know what we're doing wrong.
You ever thought about a change of career? join us & change us? The pays crap but the job satisfaction cannot be beaten. I recently responded to a report of a robbery in progress of an 82year old lady. Just down the road I stopped a person fitting the offenders description & found the old lady's purse in his pocket! He is now spending 5 years behind bars thinking about the errors of his ways. THAT is the satisfaction I joined this job for, I'm not saying all coppers are the same.
As I previously said please feel free to e-mail me and stop by for a coffee.
