Have to say I agree. This isn't a good deal at all for the NT, and whoever negotiated it wants shooting, frankly. Rooms (how many are there anyway?) range from 300+ a night up to 1500 quid for the riverside cottage (I forget what it's called) so it rather looks as if the hotel management get a license to print money thanks to a nice bit of historical ambience, without any of the associated maintenance costs.

Now since they got themselves in this mess in the first place, it's fairly obvious who's got the best lawyers and I can't see the NT even renegotiating it any time soon. Dozy jobsworths :)
