I trained as an Enrolled nurse 1982-1984. Our set spent the first 8 weeks there and returned from King Edward VII every couple of months for blocks of theory. We had good fun there and I have extremely fond memories of the place. I am a Slough girl and even though it was close to home I lived in and it was a huge adventure. Quite often, in fact always when it rained there was buckets along the great corridor catching water from leaky roofs. It sure was delapidated but so friendly and the canteen food was fab. I feel honoured to have connections there

When I was at school (Burnham Grammar) I used to work in the hairdressers at Stoke Poges and Barbara Ansell used to come in on a Saturday and I would shampoo her hair. I was probably 14 years old and I knew she was a Doctor, but I also felt there was something special about her though I never realised till later just what she achieved through her work at CRX, and you wanted to be near her because she was so jolly and kind.
