Re: As close as it is ....LOL, the only numbers I see that are the same is the first 172 which SEVERAL people who have AOL have that number, the other numbers are millions of numbers apart. But I have other news...the face of bashing is about to change!! I know a pageant mom who starts Monday at AOL....I think all this anonymous bashing and name calling is about to be a thing of the past! -- Can't Wait, 11:11:54 06/14/02 Fri

There is a limited range of IPs available even when they sign onto aol. These two numbers both start with AC8 then 4 misc. digits, then B, then ipt.aol.com then 172/13 then misc till the end. That is 10 numbers that are identical plus the fact that not all aol users get the ipt in front of their aol.com. Furthermore, it is well known that even though the later numbers in your ip may rotate your first numbers are always remarkably the same so the most important numbers used for identification here are the "AC8" and the "172/13" which are all identical. Ask any computer security expert -- quite similar in fact, 11:27:05 06/14/02 Fri

I have worked for a company that did trace isps in the past and this is what i was taught -- so it is correct information, 13:33:50 06/17/02 Mon

In any given region with any specific AOL dial up number there are only a certain range of ips available. When you sign on to aol you get one of those numbers but someone who does not use the same dial up location for aol would not have access to those same numbers. When you dial up again you get another number in the same range. The numbers identify the local dial up server for aol. Unless two people had the same dial up server they would probably not have such nearly identical ips -- just clarifying, 13:36:04 06/17/02 Mon

I don't care who you have worked for in the past or what you think you know, it is incorrect. I have seen the same person show up with 3 different sets of the first digits. I have also seen 2 different people that live over 400 miles apart show up with the exact same ip number with aol 10 hours apart. YOU ARE WRONG -- fyi, 16:05:20 06/17/02 Mon

Re: Actually, tracing IP's is not her job, but it will be a perk!! LOL the laugh will be on all these bashers who do so because they think they anonymous. I think that a lot of people will be revealed for what they really and I think a lot of people will be very surprised! -- Can't wait for all this bashing to end., 22:16:38 06/14/02 Fri

Believe it or not, 99.99% of the employees at aol are not even permitted to have the information on HOW to track an ISP. LOL. You are too funny! -- Someone who knows, 09:55:59 06/17/02 Mon

TDS and Pageant Camp pay a banner maker to make their banners, and they also post them for them on some boards. -- just letting you know, 14:32:43 06/14/02 Fri

Can you tell me who their banner maker is? Would she really post on trash boards and know the details of their pageants? -- wondering, 11:52:25 06/17/02 Mon

The banner maker did not bash anyone. You are grasping at straws. -- You need to get correct information before posting it on these boards. The tables could be turned on you., 16:07:27 06/17/02 Mon
