Scarlett's moment - While Scarlett was on stage (she was about 2 yrs old at the time) she looks at the man judge and say's "Hey Paw Paw"!!! She won and since we were away from home and an unknown in that area, I'm sure Scarlett and her win was a hot topic. (LOL) When I ask her why she called the man judge Paw Paw, her reply "Mommy, he was old". (OLD??? He may been all of 50!!) This may not be something any want to hear. Guess with Mother's Day just passing I think about certain issues that have happen in my life. I never really took the time to notice the little things my 2 oldest boys would do (now 19 & 16) when they were small. Little things like, silly faces, their own sayings, how funny it was to watch them learn to eat with a spoon and so on......Can you believe I was even glad to see them start school!(LOL) It wasn't until 8 years ago I learned how very valuable the smallest of things our children do are a blessing to us as mother's. When my youngest son Kelly was 6 mos. old, I was told he'd never do those little things our children do. They also informed my husband & I he wouldn't live to see the age of 2yrs old. My youngest son had Krabbe's (GCLD). It is more common now with 1 out of every 40,000 children born in the U.S. At first I couldn't undrstand. I didn't know what I had done for God to punish my beautiful baby this way. I can't explain the type things that go through your head when dealing with anything like this. It took a long time for me to realize that it wasn't something I or my husband did so wrong. God knew if he gave us a very special baby how much we would love him. For 20 months we never left his side. We were blessed in having our little angel for those 20 months here on earth. He taught us so much. We were blessed once more with Scarlett 11 months after the death of our youngest son. We never over-look the little things any of our children do anymore. We never go to bed at night without sounding like the Waltons(some may remember the tv show). I love u's are said all the time between each of us on a daily basis. I always try to remember that another mother somewhere is being told she has just lost her child. I started not to post this. I hope this post isn't turn into something that was not ment. I have just read so many very mean and ugly post towards each other and even child bashing. I think we need to stop and think how we would feel if it was us and our child that was being bashed. Hurt is not a pleasurable feeling. Our children, family and friends are wonderful blessings to our lives. I thank God for each and every one of you.....our pageant friends.
