　　由海巖作品改編的《玉觀音》，是謝霆鋒第一次參與拍攝的國內電影。他聽說過《玉觀音》有電視劇版本，但沒看過，而中文程度欠佳的他甚至還沒看過原著。該片開拍的第一天，心裡沒底的他感到非常緊張，不知道該如何去揣摩這一角色，就連和他演對手戲的趙薇也忍不住直言「你的樣子很彆扭」。為了緩解他的緊張情緒，趙薇告訴他曾在網上看過「誰演毛傑最適合」的一個投票，當中謝霆鋒的票數是最高的——既然大多數人都覺得他已經是這個角色的最佳人選的話根本就不需要害怕些什麼，自然演出來就是了。趙薇的這番話對謝霆鋒自信心的建立有很大的幫助。而他們在拍戲期間，除了在飯店以外，基本上都沒怎麼出去，他們不只是簡單地討論演繹揣摩方式，更多的是注重彼此精神上的一種交流。這是霆鋒第一次拍內地的電影，他感覺趙薇非常敬業，同時他也沒有掉以輕心，而是努力學習、習慣怎麼在內地做好自己的本分。
