在台灣很受歡迎的暢銷小說《蛋白質女孩》已被香港導演王家衛買下版權，將改編拍攝成電影，而在兩岸三地都很受歡迎的趙薇，很有可能擔綱演出女主角。
據報導指出，王家衛的電影公司最近正開始準備籌拍兩部青春風格濃厚的影片，一部是《流星農莊》，一部則是鎖定台灣作家王文華的《蛋白質女孩》小說，準備拍成電影版本，據悉，未來參與演出的演員都將會是當紅明星。
王家衛在華語影壇乃至整個歐洲電影界都聲名顯赫，拍過不少電影也拿過不少獎項，從藝術片到戲劇片都有，最近他的電影公司開始對青春影片產生興趣，甚至買下了暢銷台灣小說《蛋白質女孩》的電影拍攝權，有意好好大施拳腳一番。
由于《蛋白質女孩》在各地都相當受到少男少女的歡迎，所以影片應會有相當不錯的賣點，加上這是王家衛「欽點」拍攝的片子，預料製作規模應該不小。至于演員陣容，據說和王家衛合作密切的趙薇在考慮的名單之內，而該片的導演人選，王家衛屬意由韓國新銳導演來執導。
