专家给市民列出的预防措施包括：保持办公室和居所的空气畅通，定时用烧热蒸发的白醋进行消毒；适当服用一些抗病毒和预防流行性感冒类药物，如板蓝根、利巴韦林等；尽量不要到医院探视高烧不退或肺炎病人，如果一定要探视必须戴医用口罩；尽量不外出，不要到人群密集的地方或长时间呆在密闭的空间内。
同學們不必恐慌的，廣州市1千多邁人口，實際發病率很底，305人。我父母都是做醫生，當時全家也熏了只天的白醋（中医上说白醋有较强的杀毒功能，市场上卖的消毒剂是不能比的，还有一种中药普通話叫‘ai’条，把它放在家裏燒熏，它的杀毒功能比白醋還強，但氣味難聞）,它的另一用法是用它来熏脖子上低头时手摸到最突出的那根椎骨，每天熏20分钟左右，10-15天一疗程，它可大大提高人体免疫力。这是很不错的经验，不防试试看。
