最佳女配角則由胡惠文、楊貴媚、林嘉欣、趙薇四人爭奪。其中，楊貴媚原本沒有報名最佳女配角，但評審認為她在「魯賓遜漂流記」中的演出實在很搶眼，因此主動提報。以「小燕子」在台走紅的大陸女星趙薇，以古裝喜劇片「天下無雙」入圍，這也是她首度角逐金馬獎，而林嘉欣同時以「男人四十」雙提名最佳女配角與新演員，由於她曾以此片稱霸今年香港電影金像獎，因此最佳女配角人選中，她最被看好。
