"全國希望書庫愛心之旅”啟動 (人民日報海外版 /2002/11/22)

　　本報訊 記者劉菲報道：“全國希望書庫愛心之旅”大型活動日前正式啟動，邀請影視明星趙薇出任該活動的形象大使。同時接受了趙薇個人捐贈的10萬元人民幣。
作為希望工程的延伸和拓展，希望書庫專案自1994年啟動以來，得到冰心老人的積極倡導和社會各界的積極參與。該專案通過社會捐資、專業出版、定向贈書的方式，為廣大農村和小城鎮的學校捐建小型圖書室———希望書庫。在國內120餘家出版社的參與下，選編了自1945年以來出版的近500種優秀出版物，集中社會各界捐款3000萬元人民幣，印製了1萬套共計500萬冊圖書，為國內1萬所農村或小城鎮學校捐建了1萬個“希望書庫”。
針對書籍作為精神食糧對青少年成長和發展具有重要意義和我國欠發達地區的學校師生極度缺少課外讀物這一矛盾，本次“全國希望書庫愛心之旅”大型活動，將以調研農村學校師生缺少課外讀物的現狀，積極捐贈希望書庫，?廣大農村學校的師生送上急需的精神食糧為主要內容。
