Train Wreck

You snuck out of your parents' house
And jumped in your dad's new car.
You turned the key and drove off.
You weren't thinking of what could happen,
But you still wanted to take an adventure.

You don't have your license yet
But you tell yourself, "Who cares?"
For a while it rains heavily,
You turned the lights off.
You don't realize what you're doing.

You head to your girlfriend's house,
Because you know her parents' aren't home.
You see the railroad lights flash up ahead,
But you just keep on going.

You hear a faded noise,
And look up to see that the train is headed your way.
You feel your heart sink into your stomach.

As it approaches, getting closer and louder.
You can feel a sharp pain.

All of the sudden, everything goes black.

You wake up not knowing where you are,
And you see your parents' beside you.

You realize that you're in a hospital bed.
And find that it wasn't just a nightmare.

You look up, only to see your parents' smiling back at you.
You say you're sorry in every possible way.
Your parents' look at you with that forgiving face and say,
"Son, we love you, everything's going to be okay."
