Lets take a look at the ballot. #1Basiclly means you will be voting for the Vice President of your Division alone. That gives a tighter control on who represents you and makes it easier to replace a Vice President that is not performing.
#2 Gives the Private Lines a long over due Vice President which they alone will be able to choose via an election. Now a flier claims that because New Directions had a majority vote on the Executive Board we voted to remove a Mabstoa VP. New Directions does not have a majority vote on the Executive Board the only way this measure could pass is if Willies people didn’t show up at the meeting or some of Willies people voted in favor of the motion to eliminate a VP for Mabstoa. One other point. The officers of Mabstoa say by simply naming an officer Vice President that would save us money. How? #2 allows for a VP in Mabstoa and one in Private lines.... total 2. The recommendation of the flier put out by the officers creates ...3 Vice Presidents costing us over $100,00.00 dollars a year not counting a credit card. Also Private Lines has the right to vote for a VP
#3 Prevents the removal of a VP by the President A VP can only be removed by the Executive Board and by you at election time.
#4 The top ten officers may only hold one elective office.
I urge everyone vote to accept all the By-Law changes it brings us that much closer to a true Democratic Union. Keep in mind by voting accept on item #2 it makes it even more difficult for me to win as Vice President in Mabstoa because the ballots in T/A will not count. I am willing to take that risk for the sake of Democracy. The biggest threat to our jobs and families is not from New Directions but from the people who want you to sign a petition to split this Union, if that happens, Brothers and Sisters it's the end.
