Marques- It wasn't that long ago your only 18

Shana- Yea and your 22, so dont look into that too much

Marques- Last time I checked 18 was legal

Shana- Boy please

She walked away and went in the back to the bathroom. On their way to the mall Ja'net sat in the passenger seat and watched the cars drive by

Druex- Why you so quiet over there. I was lookin for you at school today.

Ja'net- Yea I really didn't wanna come to school cause I didn't feel like coming.

She stared down at the picture that Druex gave her of the dress. She smiled

Ja'net- Who helped you pick out this dress

Druex- What you mean who helped me, like I needed help

Ja'net- Oh come on I know someone helped you cause this is a really beautiful dress babe.

Druex- When I saw it I thought about you.

Ja'net- I can't believe prom is coming up, cause then that means high school will be up. I can't wait to get to college it's gonna be too fun

Druex- Yea

Ja'net- What's the matter, you thinkin about not going to school after summer break

Druex- No it's not that. I guess I wont be excited until I get to college.

They pull into the parking lot and Druex leads her to the store that had her dress. Marissa sat at home finishing up her homework and that's when the phone rang

Marissa- Hello

Omari- Hey girl

Marissa- Hey baby

Omari- What you doin over there

Marissa- Writing my paper for Ms. Collins class

Omari- You want me to come over and proof read for you

Marissa- (started laughin) Everytime you say that, I end up ditchin my homeweork and my clothes come off.

Omari- Well you know...do you need me to proof read for you. (laughs)

Marissa- Yea

Omari- I'll be there in 20 mins

Marissa- Can you make it 15

Omari- 10

Marissa started laughin and they hung up wit each other and she went back to her homework. Shana was in the kitchen cuttin Marq's hair when Ms. Houston walked in

Ms. Houston- Hi Shana how you been sweetie

Shana- Hi Ms. Houston I'm good. When did you get home

Ms. Houston- Last night

Shana- How was the trip

Ms. Houston- We had a nice time. We had no kids for a couple days. No one hittin this one and no one chasing this one

Shana- Yea you do have some wild kids

Marq- Shut up Shana

Shana- Whatever Marq

Ms. Houston laughed and left the kitchen

Marques- So look Shana I'm being real wit you right now. What's up wit me and you

Shana- What you mean what's up wit me and you

Marques- You cant read between the gaps I just layed out. I'm tryna be wit you girl

Shana- And why is that. You was just in a realtionship wit another chick like 5 mins ago. How you know you wanna be wit me

Marques- Cause I know you, so what's up

Shana didnt say nothing and she kept cuttin his hair but she smiled to herself.
