Hi there:
My mother lived at46 Neptune Street, as Queen St. was renamed. She was born 1916 and was there until she married 21 years later. I was very familiar with it as my aunt lived in the same tenament until it was demolished. It was a working class area where everyone knew each other and helped each other in need. It was all tenament buildings, probably the biggest being two rooms, which we called a room and kitchen. Some had inside toilets, but none had bathrooms. It was off Govan Road.
