The plains spread out before you are coated with at least two inches of snow, and still more tiny snowflakes "hang" in the air, like small pearls of water frozen in midmotion. Everywhere you look, in the air, there will be tiny shimmers of light, only there for a second, which will be the sun reflecting off a snowflake. The strongest time when the shimmers appear are around sunset.
