I think Bush made the entire world less safe by a stupid incursion into Iraq. Hatred of the US has never been greater and much of it is justified. Arab resentment towards the US is high and growing. Our unilateral support for Israel does not help either. It would behoove us to at least criticizxe Israel publically when appropriate. We still have not addressed the basic reason for 911 in the first place:
1) US troops on sacred Arab sil
2) meddeling in the affairs of the region
3) Unwavering support for Israel.

Hell our own CIA trained Bin Laden.
Look at the mess we created supporting a corrupt Shah of Iran. We are in Iraq when those that committed 911 were from Saudi Arabia and Afganistan. Why?

As for terrorism here, right now? I doubt it. It would take a large concerted effort to cause much damage to a refinery here. Large scale planning too. For what? What would it buy them? I think I would be more worried about bombs going off at shopping centers. Something like that would probably be much much easier to carry off and certainly much easier to get away with undetected.

That said. I doubt anything happens before the election. If something did happen would it be negative or positive for Bush? I really do not know. I think Bin Laden wants a Bush victory. Bush's stupidity has been a boon to worldwide hatred of the US. If peace and quiet helps Bush win, perhaps they do nothing.
