Carone, seeing the coyote over his youngen, runs at her, colliding into her, and pushes her into a rock, breaking some of her ribs. What do you think you're doing? He takes her throat in his mouth, ripping away the fur and skin in an attempt to get at the jugular. He reveals bloodred muscle as blood spills out of the wound.
