Dispatcher Bob Brehm said he did not know how many people were aboard the plane when it went down a mile southwest of the airport in a nature preserve. The plane was trying to land when it crashed and caught fire, Brehm said. Firefighters were still trying to extinguish the flames an hour-and-a-half later. No structures were in the area of Oak Openings Preserve MetroPark where the plane crashed, Toledo Metroparks spokesman Scott Carpenter said.
