Vaihdan pääkumpparit ja korvapaketit noin kerran viikossa, pesu noin 4-5 viikon välein. Pesujen välillä en koiraani yleensä harjaa, koska koira ei tänä aikana yleensä takkuunnu (noin 3 tuntia kestävää pesua ja föönausta saattaa joku tietysti pitää työläänä). Toisinsanoen ainoastaan kumppareiden laittaminen ja pitkän turkin föönaaminen vievät enemmän aikaa tämän koiran kohdalla kuin lyhytturkkisten isovillakoirieni turkinhoito. Toisaalta minulla on myös kokemusta huomattavasti työläämmästäkin isovillakoiran turkista, joka onkin sitten mielestäni aivan mielettömän työläs.
